Trekking to Crocodile Lake

Crocodile Lake is a UNESCO-recognized world biosphere preserve. It is home to two endangered reptile species including the Siamese Crocodile and the Andaman Water Monitor. Lucky visitors may also witness a multitude of beautiful primates and gibbons gracefully swinging from tree to tree under the magnificent canopy of Cat Tien National Park.

The swamp can be reach in multiple ways: a Jeep ride, a bicycle ride, or a 14-km trek. All routes start at the Park Headquarters after taking the ferry across the Dong Nai River. The route to Croc Lake starts on a 9-km-semi-paved-road followed by a 5-km trek through the jungle to reach the lake

Any way you choose offers a great chance to see the amazing flora and fauna that call this jungle their home. If you start early, you could also find species of snake like the red-tail-bamboo-viper and the green-whip-snake basking under the sun. (You can also book an English speaking guide to accompany you during the trek.) The ranger station offers a great view over the lake and boating is even possible if you want to get up close and personal with the crocodiles (please ask the ranger for boating).

Time start: From 7:30 am to 11:00 am. After 11:00 am, the Park HQ will not allow this tour.
